Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Quick answers to the most common questions about integrating and using the Landing Page Editor. For anything not covered here, contact our support team.

The beta

What does the beta label mean in practice?

The integration model (loader, LandingPageEditor() factory, callbacks, API endpoints) is stable, but individual options and behaviors may still change between releases. Known issues are flagged directly in the affected articles with warning boxes. If something behaves differently than documented, report it; feedback at this stage directly shapes the editor.

Can I use my existing Email Editor API token?

Yes. One Topol account and API token covers both editors. The token's allowed-domains list applies to the Landing Page Editor the same way it does to the Email Editor.

Can I load an email template into the Landing Page Editor?

No. The two editors use different template JSON schemas, so an email template does not load in the Landing Page Editor and a page does not load in the Email Editor. Store the two template types separately.

Billing & storage

How do you count users?

Users are counted by the number of unique userId values detected within a billing cycle, across both Plugin editors. Multiple people sharing one userId count as one user, and they also share one image storage bucket, so give each user or organization its own stable, unique userId.

Where are uploaded images stored?

Images uploaded through the built-in File Manager go to Topol's storage by default, under the account-wide monthly data traffic allowance. Every download of those images (including visitors loading a published page) counts toward the allowance. To keep assets on your own infrastructure, point the file management endpoints at your backend or replace the file manager entirely with customFileManager; traffic on your own storage is not monitored or billed by Topol.

Does the editor store my pages?

No. Page JSON and HTML are never stored, logged, or indexed by Topol. Saving a page sends the template to Topol's API for rendering, where it is processed in memory and the HTML returned without being retained. Long-term storage happens in your system via the onSave callback.

Integration & configuration

Can I disable or hide specific blocks?

Yes. The contentBlocks option hides or disables individual block types, and other options switch off whole features (premade blocks, the AI assistant, comments). This allows a simplified or restricted editor for your end users.

Can I localize the editor interface?

Yes. The language option switches the UI between 20 supported languages, and textOverride replaces individual labels. The two combine - overrides are applied on top of the selected translation.

Can I use the editor in a local development environment?

Yes, as long as the environment can reach Topol's domains over the network and localhost (with the port you use) is on the token's allowed-domains list. The editor loads from external sources, so ad blockers, VPNs, proxies, or firewall rules that block external scripts or iframes will prevent it from loading.

Troubleshooting

Why is the editor not loading?

The most common cause is a network rule blocking Topol resources: the loader script, the iframe, or the API. Check the browser console for blocked requests against the network allowlist, and verify the embedding domain is on the token's allowed-domains list, since an unlisted domain fails authorization. If the problem persists, our support team can help diagnose it.

Why are images not loading in the editor or File Manager?

Storage buckets are linked to the userId, so verify the userId in the configuration matches the one the images were uploaded under; a changed userId points at a different, empty bucket. With custom file management endpoints, also check that the endpoints respond in the expected format and that CORS allows requests from the editor's origin.

Data privacy

Does the editor collect personal data of end users?

No. The Landing Page Editor does not collect, store, track, or analyze personal data of end users. On initialization, Topol receives only the hostname (for domain authorization), the userId (for billing and storage), and the date and time. Page content is processed in memory during rendering and never retained, and no Plugin data is used for analytics, profiling, or AI training. Avoid using email addresses as the userId; a UUID or internal database ID works better.

Support

When is Topol support available and how can I contact you?

Our support team is available on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Prague time), without 24/7 coverage, so responses outside these hours may wait until the next business day. Leave a message through the chat widget on the Topol website or email support@topol.io with as much detail as possible.
