# Update the Plugin Loader URL

## What is the Plugin Loader URL?

The Plugin Loader URL points to the Topol Plugin's core JavaScript file, the script that initializes and runs the Plugin in your application.

## Installed via the NPM package

Version `0.3.0` of the Topol Plugin changes the Loader URL. Integration packages are still on `0.x.x`, where minor versions can carry breaking changes, and this is the only breaking change in the release.

### What you need to do

Update the Topol Plugin package to `0.3.0`.

Requests from inside the editor now originate from `https://v3.email-assets.topol.io`. If you use custom API endpoints and configured CORS for the old domain (`https://d5aoblv5p04cg.cloudfront.net`), change it to `https://v3.email-assets.topol.io`.

## Installed manually

If you followed the [Getting Started](https://docs.topol.io/email-editor/guide/getting-started.html) guide and pasted the loader script directly, the Plugin Loader URL sits in your HTML or JavaScript and has to be changed by hand.

1.  Find the deprecated loader script and swap the URL:

2.  If you use custom API endpoints with CORS configured for `https://d5aoblv5p04cg.cloudfront.net`, update it to `https://v3.email-assets.topol.io`.

## Why this update is necessary

Following our [separation from the parent company](https://topol.io/blog/topol-io-spins-out-from-ecomail-launches-as-proven-standalone-email-editor-for-developers-and-marketers), Topol runs its own independent loader domain. Owning the domain keeps the Plugin's infrastructure under the Topol team's control.

## What happens if you do not update

New features, improvements, and bug fixes ship only through the new Loader URL. A Plugin still loading from the old domain keeps working for now but stops receiving updates.

The deprecated domain keeps serving through **September 14, 2026**, without any new features, improvements, or fixes.

> On **September 15, 2026** the deprecated Loader Domain shuts down for good. From that day the Topol Plugin will not load unless it has been moved to the new domain.
